Does anybody profit from a foreclosed home in Mount Gilead (Morrow County) OH ?

Does anybody profit from a foreclosed home in Mount Gilead (Morrow County) OH ?

It's taken me a while (I'm 57) but I've come to realize that whenever someone is down on their luck and is in a bad situation, there's always someone else who benefits from this misfortune.

When a business is "going out" of business, consumers can take advantage of drastic price reductions because the business owner is trying to get every last bit of cash out before he walks away and closes the doors.

When there's a local natural disaster and Mount Gilead is filled with downed trees, destroyed roofs, no power to our homes, and flooded basements ... who makes out?  The local Lowes and Home Depot stores are filled with Lowes Home Improvement Storecustomers putting coolers, chain saws, generators, and sump pumps on their store credit cards.

The same holds true in real estate.  When someone is down on their luck and, for whatever reason, loses their home to that "F" word (foreclosure), then others will benefit.

  1. The attorneys working for the sellers lender who file and process the foreclosure paperwork.
  2. The citizens who work with and get paid by the local sheriff to appraise the property in preparation for auction.
  3. The buyer (investor or occupant) who gets great value for their dollar, for certainly the property (if well cared for) will increase in value in the coming years.
  4. If the buyer is actually the bank "buying it back" then they will list the property with a local Mount Gilead real estate agent and the "asset manager" working with a "property manager" will receive dollars for their efforts in marketing and maintaining the home (winterization, mowing, etc.)
  5. And of course, ultimately, the real estate agents, title companies, homeowners insurance agents, utility companies, inspectors, and others realize some level of income from the sale of a "foreclosed" home in Mount Gilead (Morrow County) OH.
Now certainly I'm not advocating that someone losing their home is a good thing.  It's terrible to think that a family, often through no fault of their own, is forced to walk away from their home filled with memories and get nothing for it.  It's a sad state of affairs that we can't help these folks more than we are.

But, again, their misfortune brings opportunity to others.  There IS money being spent on these properties and there IS cash moving throughout our economy.  As a wise person once told me, "there are two sides to every story" (and sometimes more!)
